The Egmont Trust supports inspirational grassroots organisations that alleviate the devastating impact of HIV & AIDS on vulnerable children and their families in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Egmont Trust works with a rigorously selected network of partners in sub-Saharan Africa to improve the lives of children affected by HIV & AIDS. We do this by supporting locally inspired, grassroots projects in Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. We believe those directly affected are best placed to identify and deliver the most effective solutions and results, as well as the greatest value for money. Egmont’s portfolio of projects is achieving sustained improvements in children’s nutrition, education, family income and HIV care and treatment.

Egmont focuses on the countries with some of the highest infection rates and where every family is feeling the impact of the HIV&AIDS epidemic. Despite all the recent advances in HIV prevention, care and treatment, children living in AIDS-affected households – especially the 11 million children under the age of 17 that have lost one or both parents to the AIDS epidemic in sub-Saharan Africa – still face overwhelming deprivation and disadvantage.

Egmont's Trustees and Patrons cover 100% of the charities' operating costs ensuring that ALL donations go directly to projects. Since its inception in 2005, Egmont has committed £5.6million to over 80 partner organisations in Africa helping over 420,000 people.
